God the Economist: So What is Our Role?

Biblical Principle: Faith Without Works
Practical Principle: Faith Must Be Put Into Action

I. The Joint Role of Faith and Actions
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Notes: Faith without corresponding action is dead.  Faith finds its fulfillment in action. Your role – Action of obedience.
Example: Abel obtained favor because he made a sacrificial offering.

II. Where Does Faith Come From?
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Notes: Hearing the Word of God builds our faith and trust in God.  Faith is produced in our hearts & minds.  We are then accountable.

III. Become An Aggressive Hearer Of The Word
James 1:23-25 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Notes: Do not ignore God’s voice.  Seek his word to take action therein.  A person who listens and obeys will be a blessed person.

IV. The Word of God Will Not Return Void
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Notes:  (1) The Word of God will go into the atmosphere and will return to us; but   not empty.
             (2) It will perform and accomplish; manifest God’s desire

V. Jesus said in John 6:47, ‘He That Believes, Has Eternal Life’
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Notes: Believing is the key to victory.
